Hi Michelle! I feel the exact same way about the Twilight movies - loved the books, but they butchered the movies. It was really disappointing because I had such high hopes!
I have read the Host, and enjoyed it a lot. I've read the Hunger Games too, and love them, and was going to include them on my list until I decided to do a top 3!
Another good vampire series - one I think is even better than Twilight - is House of Night by P.C. & Kristen Cast. A co-worker got me hooked on them.

I've read both Harry Potter and Twilight. I enjoyed the Twilight books but cannot stand the movies. I saw the first one and refuse to watch any of the others as I think they are horribly done.
Have you read Host by Stephanie Myers? That was a good one (not a series). Another great young adult series is Hungers Games - I loved it and am now reading the trilogy with my reading class. They can't get enough!!
